REFERENCE CHAIN
Satellites give the truth; the pulse-per-second output disciplines a temperature-controlled crystal that rides through sky outages unharmed. The result: microsecond-grade time, measured — never assumed — on the telemetry panel above.
Interleaved mode is enabled: transmit timestamps are paired with their actual arrival, halving jitter even on congested links.

QUESTIONS
What does Stratum 1 mean?
A Stratum 1 server reads time straight from a reference source — here, GNSS satellites — with no other server in the chain. Their clock starts from the ground truth.
What is NTS and why does it matter?
Network Time Security (RFC 8915) cryptographically authenticates every time response, so an attacker cannot feed your device a spoofed time. This server supports it; enable it in your client config above.
How accurate is this service?
The live telemetry panel measures it continuously: offsets are typically in the microseconds because the reference is disciplined by a pulse-per-second signal feeding a temperature-stabilized oscillator. Your final accuracy also depends on your network path.
What happens when the sky is not visible?
The oven-controlled oscillator holds over — it keeps near-perfect time from its own stable physics while satellites are lost, and re-locks the moment the sky returns.
Why do the addresses change?
The server is dual-stack and its addresses are DNS-resolved live on this page. The domain ntp.fays.al always points at the current pool; the literals shown under Synchronize From are whatever DNS publishes right now.
Is it free? Any logging?
Open access, volunteer-operated, no registration, no logging of your time queries. It exists so the region has an honest, local, measurable source of time.
